March - closure and powercuts meant room 14 missed out on LT visit during term 1.

Am struggling to use the projector in my class due to cable layouts, classroom layout and the internet failing to work on my laptop since the beginning of the year. This is being seen to at present and i am currently rearranging my room to ensure the projector is set up and used at a variety of times throughout the day (3 may)
Term1 reflection: During term 1 i attempted to use some ict equipment but as stated above the projector didnt get used much as when i went to use it something wouldn't work which ended up very frustrating. This is a goal for next term to have this set up and running daily especially during writing time in my classroom. The digital camera was used by the students a number of times and the childrens focus and engagement with the activities was enhanced greatly. I had the pod in the classroom during guided reading time on a few occasions, this was used by all reading groups the focus and concentration towards there activities was excellent. The children all produced excellent work and were engaged at all times this also allowed for less distraction with the reading group i was teaching. The children used the encarta programme during this time as well as the internet for searching and finding information about a particular thing. My goal next term is to use this more during reading time as well as at other times during the day.
April 22 LT took 2 reading groups and taught them how to use kidspiration as part of a follow up to a guided reading group. the ch set up the laptops on their own. T is going to try and use this in guided reading next week.
T - planned to used the kidspiration programme with reading groups this week (week 3) but due to p.o.d booking around the same time needed i wasnt able to. This will be booked for next week (week 4) and will be used as a pre reading and after reading task for all reading groups. The two groups that were taught how to use this programme are very keen to get back on the laptops and to be the teachers for the rest of the class. Having the LT teach the lower reading groups saw huge success with a lot of focus and excitement to get there work completed
Week 3 i have planned to use the easi speak and digital camera with the children to present our art (painting styles and brush strokes) on the wiki. The whole class will be involved with this task.
